Bizarre footage captured the moment a man allegedly stole a cherry picker before driving it near a town hall.
The video, taken at approximately 2am on Wednesday morning showed police vehicles at the scene outside Chadderton Town Hall in Oldham.
A red cherry picker is seen on the clip moving down Middleton Road with the arm raised to full height with two people standing on the platform in pouring rain.
After appearing to tower over the town hall building, the driver moves the platform so it is directly above the road.

Police closed the road around the scene and have arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of theft and assaulting and emergency worker
Onlookers are heard saying that the driver ‘must be sniffed up or something’ compared the robbery to ‘GTA five-star business’.
Other witnesses commented that the scene was ‘comedy gold’ and ‘absolute madness’.
The thief, was labelled an ‘absolute muppet’, had allegedly told officers on the scene to ‘f*** off’.
Police were initially called to the incident which started on Russell Street and closed off the road.
An officer was seen approaching people filming the incident and warning them not to post it online, to which they responded: ‘This is comedy gold this man.’
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of stealing a motor vehicle and gt5 assaulting an emergency worker, the Oldham Times reported.
